Just like any business that must find a way to be profitable and survive, law firms also contend with the prospect of remaining viable in a competitive legal marketplace. Every industry is different and may their own unique set of challenges.
On the other hand, many of the challenges may be similar but perhaps just addressed differently. For lawyers, there may even be different challenges depending on the specific practice area that you focus on. Regardless of what the challenges are, being able to effectively deal with them and having a plan of action in place will increase your likelihood of overcoming them.
Like with any other business, the phone won’t simply ring off the hook. You have to take action to bring in clients. No matter what type of marketing you choose to pursue—public seminars or referrals from other professionals or simply referrals from clients—you need a definite plan of action.
